I have a 2004 limited. When I am due for an oil change the check engine light comes on and when I am in the backside of the desert it's an annoyance. How do you turn it off.

in order to turn the maintenance light off. (Also it a indicator to change your oil Toyota suggest now every 5,000mi)
#1 Check and make sure your Odom is set to odm and then turn key off. hold the reset button located on the left side of the cluster and should be labeled reset. Hold in while key is off at the same time while holding reset turn key on (w/out starting). on the odm you should see the -------- the lines will appear and then 0000000 will appear after the lines and then your light should be out.
-If no buttom labeled(reset) on the left side of cluster isn't there. Then it goin to be on the right side inside the cluster window. Its like a little black button push it in and hold with the key off.
At the same time you are holding this botton turn key on (w/out starting) the samething above should accur.
