I received a letter from Toyota about a recall they issued for 2003 through 2008 4Runners. Apparently they want to "modifiy" the gas pedal and may replace the all weather mats I bought when I purchased the vehcle back in 08.

Question. Has anyone had this "moficiation" done on their vehicle? I've heard that all they do is cut about 1/2" off the bottom of the pedal. I'm thinking that they're offering the replacement mats to draw people in to get this done. I've never had any issues or problems with the gas pedal, but I could use a replacement set of all weather mats.

Thoughts? Experiences?

I've had mine done and I can't tell any difference. I have the OEM floor mats...no changes there. I'm satisfied with the work and results.

Had mine done and they punch a second hole in your OEM mat and place another anchor on the floor...now it is held in place by 2 anchors...and trim the pedal like stated above...don't think your gonna get new mats....
