Default 4x4 Stiffness??

I have a 99 4x4, and when I have it in 4wd, it runs strangely. It could be normal, I am kind of an idiot when it comes to some things with my car, but it turns really tightly when it is in 4wd. The tires skid a little and when I turn really sharp, it is really tough. This is all on pavement when it acts like this, as far as I can tell when I run it off road everything feels fine, anyway, any thoughts are appreciated...

normal. Its because all tires are locked, it has to skid around corners since the extra tread thats not spinning on the inside tires has to go somewhere since the outsides are going a greater distance.

P.S. Its not recommended to use 4wd on dry pavement, easy to break things.

Thank you very much, really the only time I use the 4wd on pavement is when I am pulling my boat out of the water, and I will definitely be more careful.

Thanks again for your help!
