Hello all

I bought a really nice 92 4Runner about a year and a half ago to pull mine, and my girlfrinds dirtbikes. It's been a great vehicle, even though the 3L V6 is a bit gutless. Anyway, I haven't used my 4x4 since late February, and this past weekend I tried to use it, but it would not work. The lever on the transfer case will slide into the 4 hi, and 4 lo slots like nobody's business, but the dash indicator does not light up, and the 4x4 does not engage...I'm stumped? I have pretty good mechanical knowledge, but will confess that the workings of the 4x4 system are foreign to me. I did have a new stereo installed about two months ago, and wondered if they pooched an important wire or something?! Can anyone give me some help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Its possible that the linkage came loose too.

I never got a light for 4x4, but oh well for me.

Even if the linkage is loose it will shift and have some feel behind it, but no 4x4..
