I'm hoping one of the experts here can shed a light on a very frustrating issue that my sister has with her 4runner...

It's a 1996 4cyl 4wd.

A few months ago, the headlights started to randomly turn themselves on when the car was parked and the key was out... this would happen overnight sometimes and she'd come out to the truck to find a dead battery.

Well, if that wasn't weird enough, other things have started to turn on by themselves, such as the blower motor for the heater...

What the heck could be causing this?

I was thinking maybe the ignition, the car just thought that the key was in and it was turned "on", but that wouldn't explain the headlights coming on when they were turned off by the headlight switch.

Any ideas would be super helpful!
