New gremlin in the system: Vehicle is stock '98 4runner with 2.7 liter 4 banger and auto tranny and 2wd.
1 and sometimes 2 cylinders not firing at idle, seem to be firing at above idle and while driving although power is down for obvious reasons. Local shop checks codes with basic scanner and pulls up general code for cylinders not firing for electrical reasons. Checked coils by pulling leads off at the coils and checking spark strength: Coil for cylinders 2 and 3 nice strong blue/white spark, coil for cylinders 1 and 4 weak yellow and intermittent spark. Shop concurs and changed apparent problem coil. Same problem after new coil installed. Now what? Anybody have any ideas on this one?
