Default Cold Start up = Gas Go Gone!?

I'm no expert on vehicles, but with my 92 4runner, each time I start the thing after its been sitting for over 6 or so hours, it just seems to swallow about an eigth of a tank of gas. I hardly find this fair... I'm not sure this is normal, but if anyone could possibly clear up my befuddlement, that would be great. I'd love to... do anything to make the vehicle stop doing this as the MPG for this tank is anemic enough as it is...

Thanks-
Jerrel

How high are the gas prices where you live? What if someone is syphoning your gas? Maybe your cold start injector is shot...? Have you taken any codes off the diagnostic port? Read the "Trouble Codes" section HERE

Then you can use THIS (use fig. 6 and fig. 7 for your engine's trouble codes.) These pages will explain how to and allow you to run a diagnostic check on your vehicle.

do you keep track of how far you go, and how much gas you put in? maybe your gas gauge is bad?
