I've got a 93 5 speed 6 cylinder with 267K miles. Within the last three days, the e-brake dash light and battery indicator light come on at the same time. They stay on for a few seconds then turn off. Come back on, then the battery gauge drops, the light go off and the battery gauge goes back up to the normal position.

I checked the alternator connections, the battery terminal connections, and fuses. No luck, with those.

Is this a symptom of an electrical short, or something more serious?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

my 4runner did that for the last guy who owned it that why I got it dirt cheap poor guy didn't know what he had mine turned out to be the alternator ck and make sure it's getting power when it's not charging if it's getting power then its the alternator itself if not then you need to look elsewhere good luck buddy
