Default Gas Tank under pressure - 94 4runner

When I open the gas cap on my 4runner it seems to be under quite a bit of pressure. Has anyone had this happen to them before and how do you fix the problem. My gas tank has a leak as well (not sure how big a problem it is) so I am wondering why there is so much pressure with this condition. I plan to have the tank replace of resealed haven't decided as of yet soi I would like opinions on this as well.

Gas caps these days cannot emit fumes into the atmosphere andare therefore no longer vented, so as the fuel level goes down gas vapors fill thetank and the pressure increases. Took my 87 for an emissions test a couple weeks back on 1/4tank, the gal couldn't get the cap off even using both hands so she had to have one of the guys help her. Still had to test in order to get it into the system, though.

that much pressure is not normal though even though it is fuel injected. I did a couple of things so far, I blew some compressed air in the the carbon canister that controls the fumes under the hood and aire seems to flow through that a bit better now. I haven't driven the truch much since I have done this so I don't know if I still get as much pressure build up.
