Default Roof Rack Question

Howdy,

I have a 2003 4runner SR5 with factory installed roof rack. I've been considering strapping a sixty pound 15' canoe to this rack and going on a road trip. However, I don't want to exceed the load limits for the rack, and can't seem to get a straight answer on the subject from my local dealers.

Does anyone know whether the factory installed rack is attached to an internal frame or something? Specifically, can the rack be used for the purpose I describe?

Any opinions will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Sixty - sixty five pounds, something like that. It is fifteen feet long.

I think you would be WAYYYYYYYY good to go with the weight distributed that far out. Not like its resting on a pin needle, I seriously think you good to go no worries at all.
