Default 99 4 Runner Limited CA Emissions Cat Convert.

Brand new to this site. I want to run my 99 4 Runner for another 5 years. It's in MINT condition, detailed 3 times a year for the last 7 years. Sharp!! 170K miles.

This is driving me crazy!!! 2 scans, both show bad cat convert. Prices, $300 aftermarket-----$1300 dealer.

Is the dealer part worth it??

Yes, I think so. The dealer cat will last another 150K miles while the after-market might last 30K miles. The after-market probably has less back pressure, "high flow" so your engine might develop an extra horse or two. I installed an after-market cat 25K miles ago in another vehicle and now must replace the cat. I will replace with the OEM dealer cat.
