Welcome to 4RF!

The ECT button is for the tranny. Electronically Controlled Transmission, I believe.

Don't know what the markings are for a 98, but on my 87 there is a panel marked ECON and POWER on the gauge cluster. Punchingthe ECT button switches btwn the two modes.

Basically, the POWERsetting holds the tranny in lower gears longer while accelerating.

Recommended first mod: LSD in rear diff.

On my 89 the light says POWER and NORM but the button says ECT. I've always used it for towing and the one time I took it to the drag track. I do notice a difference when I use it like that.

Air filter and exhaust for firsts
