Hello all I am new here just bought a 98 4runner two weeks ago with 222000 miles on it. It is a one owner 4runner and has been very well maintained. But this past weekend it started makeing a grinding/clanking sound it only does it when I am driving if its in park or if I hit the brakes to come to a stop nothing happens. What could this be the sound is coming from the middle area of the vehicale and I have taken off the front wheels and checked everything it does have all new brakes that I had put on. Could it be the transfer case or the driveshafts? It drives fine its just the sound. Any help would be great. Thanks I look forward to talking with everyone!!
