what tire/wheel combo do u have?
I got the front and rear 3rds complete with 4.88's and arb air locker in each from Randy's Ring & Screw-U. I wouldn't recommend them. I'd got to west coast diffs or drivetrain direct or somebody like that. they did a shoddy job and even sent me the wrong front and wouldn't cross ship the correct one even though it was their mistake! I had to pull the rear last weekend to replace a seal and orings in the locker so it's at a local 4x4 shop getting the backlash setup right now. I'd tried it and it's not often that I admit defeat, but this isn't for the shade tree mech like me. I can do almost everything to my runner but when it comes to tight-azz measurements I don't have the patients, especially when it's so time consuming to pull the darn thing if it's not right the first time.</P>
The M/T's are good to me on the highway, just be sure to rotate them at every oil change or they with cup if you do alot of street driving, as will any oversized a/t or m/t. they have a nice hum to them on the street but it's not too much for me, I kind of like it, when I stop hearing them, it's time to get new ones. I've had mine for over 30k miles and I still have 1/2 the tread on them.</P>

That's tight, is your Runner your everyday vehicle? I think my gears are 4.56 right now... do you think the power will be greatly affected? I was also thinking about maybe even getting 32x11.5's...

thanks. check out my site (the WWW button below) if you want to see all the mods I've done, also I have some pics there.</P>
4.56's are fine for the 33's in your case. I went with 4.88's because I wanted more torque on the trails.</P>
Mine is my daily driver so I sacrifice a but of driving comfort, by that I mean it red lines quicker in the low gears so I can't ride 2nd gear out like I used to, I have to shift into 3rd earlier. but getting the 4.88's gave me back the upper end, like 5th gear on the interstate, with the 4.10's I'd have to downshift to pass people then shift back up to 5th. with the 4.88's I keep it in 5th and give it some gas and I pass. got my highend power back. some people have gone with 5.29's but I think it's overkill since I don't rock crawl and it is my daily driver. I and alot of others with 4.88's are comfortable with them in our daily drivers.</P><edited><editID>keisur</editID><editDate>38321.6287037037</editDate></edited>

RE: what tire/wheel combo do u have?
Last year I bought new 16 X 8.5 American Racing Teflon Coated Black on Black rims (they stay cool and are nicely weighted). With that I got the Mickey T. MTZ 33s. The tires simply rock! I have put 35,000 on them and they still have great tread left. I think they were rated for 55,000 miles but I will get 60+ off of them. The first 10 months or so they were very quiet considering a aggressive tread patern, yet within the 5 months they have gotten a bit louder but only when driving above 55mph.
