My 2000 4Runner is finally starting to show the sag in the back. I know it's time for new shocks and struts and since I don't have the $$$ for a suspension lift I'm looking at just getting factory shocks and struts to replace the old ones. I'm wondering, however, since this seems to be an issue with all 4Runners if there's a company out there that makes shocks and struts that are better quality than the ones from the factory?

 

Most aftermarket springs are made for lift. You could try getting some of the OEM tall 99 model year springs. Not all 99's got them but they are still sold. They are the tallest stock springs that 4runners came with.

Does anyone have any info on how this works? Would I still have to buy new shocks and struts or does this "quick lift" take care of that for me?

The others are just the Rancho 5000 or 9000 series shocks and struts.

Alot of spring and shock places can help, they can reform your originals to save on the money of buying new ones. They all sag in the end..

 

Replace the spring and shock is the only solution. Save up and have it repair.

 

Its also the best time to install a lift kit or a leveling kit in exchange of your oem shock and spring. That is if you want to upgrade and should last longer.

 

The cheapest solution I am aware of is to go to a pull and pay, find a comparable donor vehicle and pull the spring sets you need. I did this a while ago and got both rear packs for $75 total out the door.
