Default Valor DTS-603W DVD Receiver install

Hey everyone. I have a 2005 4runner se and just purchased a Valor DTS-603W DVD Receiver. Instead of paying someone to install it which would take all the fun out of it, i want to do it myself. Does anyone have any advice on where to start with dash dissassembly and overall installation. its from crutchfield who does a decent job supplying all install info, but im more concerned with where to start with the dash without damaging anything. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks! Also, may be a dumb question, but, will steering wheel audio controls work on an aftermarket head unit?

Steering wheel controls would work, but if you have to ask you probably cant get them to work. Its all about time and wiring, no offense..

Pretty easy install, other wise. Most are plug and play, just need to get the adapter for your car. Im sure you have that. Im not framiliar with the 2005, so check for screws, be gentle when pulling on plastic pieces, toyotas love their CLIPS!! haha
