Lift on 96 4runner
Hey guys! I have a 96 4runner and put a 2.5 inch lift on it. I was told by my shop that is the biggest lift I can put on a 96. Is that true? I dont want to do a body lift but would like about a four inch lift if I can. Any help would be great.

RE: Lift on 96 4runner
Hey Bristow,
I have the same vehicle as you do and put on a lift using total chaos spacers after a buddy of mine dumped a whole lot of money into the downey system, cranked it up and found that it was too stiff with the springs compressed. I am running 32"x12.5" tires and did have to trim out the plastic wheel liner
in some places. As far as ride goes, it is very comfortable (changed the rear shocks to the rancho adjustable shocks) and feels close to stock. Cost was very affordable and a buddy and i did all
4 in one evening. A very long evening. The fronts are the hardest and the first side took 4 hours,
the next side took 45 minutes. If you want to look at it, go to Alpine Superchargers web site,
click on the home page tab, then customer gallery, then Arts 99 4-Runner. They got the year wrong,
it is a 97. Customer service was great from Total Chaos, the kit comes with the owners cell phone
number and he is a great help when you are doing the install.
