My friend has a 4Runner and her dash lights are on. It is the Traction control light the one next to that and the check engine light. The mechanic she took it to said it was a short and reset the codes. He said the lights would come back on and didn't know what to do.

My question is have any of you dealt with this and would replacing the traction control switch solve this problem. That is what I think it could be but figured I would turn to the pros. Thanks for your time and help.

The Traction control light comes on because the check engine light is on. If you find out what the codes are the traction control code will almost certainly be due to the engine code. You need to know the engine code and diagnose from there.
