Hello, I am new here and not very knowledgable with cars but here is my questions. I have a 98 4runner with electric locks and 230K miles,I do not have remote key access. For the first time since I have had my car I can not lock my doors, the locks just pop up when I push the button to lock AND if I manually use my key on the outside the same thing happens. As you might guess that this is a little frustrating since I can't lock my doors. Also my celiling enterier lights are set on "door" but if I shut my door the light does not go out. I am guessing electricle but I have taken it to 2 car repair shops and they cant seem to help me.
Can anyone help me figure out whats wrong?

take the car back to the maker (toyota) or who ever makes it and let them find the thing may cost some times in does not cost
