I just bought a V-8 4-Runner this past weekend, and while test driving the truck I noticed the same clunk that some Tacomas have, we use to modify the drive shaft for this and it worked pretty well. After getting to work on monday I searched Toyotas information system and found that just recenetly, I believe in August, a TSB was released to replace the driveshaft with an updated shaft. This is covered under powertrain warranty, and made the truck drive much better.
