Default 03- AC- problem-

I have a 2003 4runner. A year ago the AC cut out and the idiot light was lashing. Took it to Toyota and they said they found nothing wrong. Worked fine after that. 3 weeks ago my wife took it to local mechanic for brakes and coincidentally AC stopped again. She had him look at it and he just put some dye in for a later leak check. It worked again. Last week it stopped again, blowing hot air and idiot light flashing. My wife took it back to local mechanic who said evaporator was leaking, but it was very expensive and she should take it back to Toyota to see what they say. Should not happen, only 4 yr old, 50k miles. I took it out yesterday and the AC worked fine. Ice cold if you wanted it. So, obviously there is no leak! My wife takes it out a couple of hours later and it cuts out again with light flashing. I assume it has to be a switch or computer glitch. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Gary

loose belt? Bad ground on electronic components.

If its still under waranty I would tell you Toyota to make it break and then fix it. IF no warranty i would say watch it a little while longer..
