1999 4Runner LTD. The digital OEM clock has been going dark for a couple of years and will intermittently come back on. When it's dark, I can knock on the rim around it and it will come back on. It still keeps perfect time, even when the display is not visible. I figure I have a loose wire or something but I do not know how to remove the "bezel" or trim around the clock, raido, CD area to get to the rear electrical components. I know that I can fix this myself if I could get this part removed, even if it means I have to install a new clock. I do not want to break the beautiful wood grain trim and hope that someone here knows how to pop this piece off. I am not actually sure that I will have access to the wires if this trim is taken off but it's my guess that it should be removed to access the rear of the clock. Thanks in advance for anyone who has successfully undertaken this task.

More than likely you're going to have to take the clock itself apart to find the bad connection. These are notorious for failing. There are some places that offer to fix them fairly cheap but if you're handy you can probably find the bad solder connection or broken spring and fix er up. Of course you can always hit up a junk yard in your area for a cheap replacement...
