New to forum. Purchased 2006 4Runner yesterday. Went back today and purchased Toyota hood protector. They gave me part number PT427-89030 which from everything I see online is the right one but it appears that the grill must have changed between 2005 and 2006 because there is no way the mounting brackets will fit. Does anyone have any experience in this area or has installed the hood protector on a 2006? Thanks.

 

had the same problem, painted the sob first too! Can't find a new one yet, toyota says november. I emailed Lund to see if they made a new bracket, waiting for a response...
