4WD Issues:2007 SR5
Howdy-
Over the past year, I've been having some issues w/ the 4WD on my '07 4Runner. When switching from RWD to 4-HI, there is quite a delay before it actually engages. This has happened under ALL conditions (off road rock, dirt, mud, snow) anywhere from a complete stop (in neutral-drive to reverse) to 50 mph on an icey hiway. This delay can be as long as a minute plus before it finally kicks in & has been extremely frustrating (& sometimes dangerous) at times.
Could this be a problem w/ the solenoid? I had the dealership check on it a couple of months ago, and of course they gave me the run around. Disengaging the 4WD doesn't seem to be as much of an issue.
Feedback is appreciated!

The Actuator in the transfer cases do go more often then one would expect from a Toyota. Just had my 2004 in to have that replaced. I guess it is somewhat common. The trnafer case would not go into 4LO. Maybe the dealer can replace under warranty? If they give you trouble call the regional rep.
