4WD shuddering

4WD shuddering
I have a 2004 4WD SR5 V8. I noticed this winter, especially when my 4 runner was cold, when I backed up or pulled ahead with the wheels turned near the stop that there was some shuddering or vibration as soon as I started moving. (It stopped as soon as the wheels were straight.) The dealer told me that was normal for the full time 4wd transfer case, and that it was the viscous coupling. Itest droveanother new one and didn't reproduce the noise/feeling. Since someone broadsided me and bent my rear axle soon after I bought it, I want to be sure it isn't hidden damage from the wreck. Does anyone else have this shudder with a 4WD model?

RE: 4WD shuddering
I own a 2004 4runner with v8 all wheel drive. I have a small amount of shuddering in the same conditions. It doesnt bother me as much as when i stop at a stop light and pull away it makes kind of a clunk sound from the drive train its small but, i dont like it. Is this the same for you?
