Default '90' 4 runner. should i go efi or carby

hey guys im new to 4x4 and have just bought a 90 model 4 runner. its a 4cyl petrol (what i wanted easy to work on and cheap) i was just wondering if it was worth it to change it to efi. i can install myself aswel as wire up efi but im not sure if efi will make it more unreliable beacuse of more parts involved. does anybody know if 22r motors are more efficient with efi. also what extra power would i expect?
