Default 90 SR5 V6 Auto Trans Bad Shift - Help

I have a '90 SR5 4WD, V6. Recently, the tranny has a hard time deciding which gear to go into. Happens in stop and go traffic jams. Otherwise is ok. Only 87,000. I'm gonna flush tranny and change filter. Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks.

Hows the fluid look, burnt, dark in color? It sounds like it could be a shift solenoid problem. Are there any codes?

Fluid looks great and no codes. It's only happened in stop and go traffic.

Actually, I did a full tune up, plugs/wires/cap & rotor on her and the problem went away. Previous owner had same problem @ 50,000 and took it to dealer. They could never find the cause, but tuned her up and fixed it. Thanks for all your help.
