Default Deactivating DRLs on a 2008 T4R

Okay, I'm stumped. I've googled and looked at other forums (Sorry 4Runner Forum), but haven't been able to find the steps to deactivate the Daylight Running Lights (DRL)on my '08 4Runner. I called a local dealership and they'll do it for $40, so it must be pretty easy. The dealership from which I bought the vehcile won't do it for me because it's a "safety issue". BALDERDASH! I've driven at least six verhicles in my lifetime without DRLs with no problems at all.

Anyway, if you can help, I'd appreicate it.

Thanks.
