Default really weird '90 electrical problem!

I went to start the truck yesterday and it was totally dead. So I jumped it with another truck and as soon as the batteries were connected all of the dash lights as well as the hazards began blinking. So now even when the truck is running everything blinks. And the problem is that when I turn it off they still blink so the battery drains. There is little red light on the dash under the rear window defrost button that flashes constantly, and I don't know what the light is for. I bought the truck used and it did not have a manual. Anybody have any ideas?

sounds like someone put in an alarm and you dont have the remote. check under the dash for the alarm brain and just unplug it. is there a siren (will be black with red/black wire going to it) under the hood. mine had the same thing, the alarm siren was cut but the lights still blink and activates the starter kill. if this is your problem unplugging the brain will fix it.
