Default rear window on 3rd gen

here's my problem, My rear window won't go down with the key or with the switch. When i press the down button i heard nothing , but when i press the up button i heard a sound from the relay in the hatch. When i bypass the system and i plug the rear window motor to a battery i can roll up or down the window. If i keep the window down and i press the up button the window goes up normally.

My rear wiper is also stuck , i heard the motor trying to work put no movement.

When i press the defrost the light goes ON.

I really need help with this.
thx.

Since your window works with the cheater method (direct battery) that rules out any obstruction. Yours doesn't seem to fall under the "memory" problem. When this happens the truck doesen't think the window is all the way up so it disables the wiper and the defroster to keep from damaging things. Since your defroster works and it sounds like your wiper is trying to work, I doubt this is your issue. The normal fix is to make sure you roll the window all the way up sealed tight, then it resets itself. Have you checked the switch inside on the console? Maybe the down side is dirty or fried. Sorry I can't be much help. I've never experienced this problem myself.

my window was up. i put a second battery to roll down the window and after i roll the window up with the key in the hatch. Once its all the way up , no more control from the key or from inside.

I check the switch , i open it and everythings is ok.

The only other thing I can think of would be a broken wire somewhere. Maybe check the wires that bend with the hatch opening. I've read before that someone found a broken wire inside the loom.

I'm having the same problem with my rear window/wiper and washer. I lowered the window a couple inches for air flow the other day and now it won't go back up. The day before that I had been messing with the washer fluid reservoir relocating it. Window wont work with key or switch. i do hear a small noise when back there when I hit the switch but nothing.

Make sure you didn't accidentally hit the lock button and lock the windows. Does the defroster still work? You could try putting the window all the way down and then see if it will go up. It may need to be reset this way but I'd hate for you to get it all the way down and then have it stuck that way...
