Slow starting
When I turn the key on my 2000 V6 it has to turn over quite a few times before it ever starts. I guess it could be the starter but I was wondering if there was anything else I should look for.
I'm not a certified Toyota mechanic or anything, but I've worked on a lot of vehicles over many years. If you're cranking over, it's definitely not a starter issue--that's either a fuel supply or spark issue. Start simple--maybe replace your fuel filter and clean the injectors, and check your air filter as well. In general their ignitions are pretty solid, but you may have a component about to die. If yours still uses a standard cap and rotor, replace those first--the contacts wear out over time, and will interfere with the transfer of spark to the plugs. The Yotatech forum is a good source for info, too. Best of luck!
