Default Do Cold Air Intake Really Work?

Would a CAI help with gas mileage and power on a 2008 4Runner V8? Which "brand" is best? What are your experiences with them?

Thanks.

Yes they work, granted with MASS flow sensors it doesnt really change much.

I have used just about all the REAL name brands, cant go wrong with K&N though, easy to find, great name, warranty..

That being the case, what's the benefit of a CAI? What are some other things I could do to increase power and mileage?

Thanks for the reply!

Response is better, crossing over into increase power and mileage.

increase power and mileage within reason is a CAI, programer, exhaust system and headers, thats about the highlight.

I cant speak for CAI. But I have put in a K&N air filter into the stock airbox. Other than a much throaty sound, performance and gas mileage was similar to factory air filter.

try K&N Cold Air intake. with CAI you'll notice improvements but I'm not pretty sure with fuel mileage. Btw, I'm here with the same thing, what brands of bed liners can you suggest?

Toyota has a TRD Performance CAI, has anyone compared that to a K&N CAI? I have a 05 4WD v8 Sport and I'm thinking about putting in upgrades. Anything to improve the life and maybe MPG.

I got my Cheaperthandirt catalog last week and i just got around to looking it over. On the cover they have on sale the US Issue gas mask ( OM10 gas mask set). I went to the site and was reading the reviews on it and this one was so funny. Here it is "This mask actually works and works well. My wife has I.B.S. so she is constantly passing gas. When I am fortunate enough to get a warning from her I put the mask on then I can continue to watch Jerry Springer. If this mask can keep the air pollution from her crop dusting from getting me sick it is a winner in my book." That's so funny. Not a bad deal 10 dollars for a used but like new mask with carry bag two new filters. On top of that it comes with the drinking hose and 2 extra lenses and i think it even comes with a water bottle top for the drinking hose. MLT-9104 - OM10 Gas Mask,Filter Carry Bag Protect against Nuclear, Bio, Chemical, Virus if you are stocking up why not add this to your stock. I am sure it will help.
