security light wont let truck start?
Hi there fellow 4runners, im new guy. Love flyfishing, bowhunting, and not exerting myself.
hello fellow4runners,I hope im doing this right. I just bought a 2000 2wd Limited 4runner, got it 3 weeks go, ran great and then it didnt as it does not start.
I joined to get some help w my new to me 4 runner. I made a homedepot chip key used both OEM master chip Key and the home depot chip key. then one day truck would not start. Turns over, all elec works The security light will not stop blinking even when keys are inserted. As if immobilizer ring will not read the key or ECU Computer wont read it. I purchased a junkyard immobilizer ring and a computer from another 2000 4runner. had both ECU's memory cleared of old keys. and still security light wont stop blinking - so truck still wont start.
Can a homedepot chip key mess up everything in the 4runner? Or does the computer need to be reprogramed? or is there some mystery fuse? Im at a loss. I feel like i could write a sad country song.
Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed.
