Default New Tires new question

After reading many posts regarding the best choice of tires for my 4 Runner I chose to go with the Bridgestone Revo 2's. I did go to 265/70/17 and I do like the way they feel so far. I probably paid the high end because I wanted to use the service shop I am familiar with and trust. My question is I was charged over a hundred dollars for a tire sensor and realized after leaving the shop the tire light on my dash is lit. I checked the tires and they are all at 34 lbs. Another thing is my gps and radio has all been reset no memory left on either. I guess the mechanic ran into some difficulty so I am hoping for some infor here to help before I go back to hopefully avoid a run around. Your help would be appreciated.

Did you replace your spare tire? Did the bigger size have any effect on you spedometor?
I'm looking at up sizing my new tires just a hair as well.

Default new tires new question

Actually I checked the speedometer today with a speed box on the road and speed seemed very accurate. What I did notice was when I fill up with gas
my dash tells me how many miles to expect on the fill and it has been in the mid four hundred mile range. With the new tires the miles read only mid three hundred, I am wondering if the tires are the reason for this.......Joe

That is wiered about the gas mile est. Were you able to get the spare tire mounted under your 4runner? I am stuck between the Mich LTX M/S2 and the General Grabber Hwy. Did you notice a difference with the slightly bigger size? Thanks Kev

Sorry about not answering your question the first time about the spare tire. No I did not include buying the fifth tire. I will just keep the new spare I received when I bought the car as a spare.

I just bought some Conti CrossContant LX for my 2005 Sport V8. Love them so far! I've had OE Dunlops (crap) and Michelin Cross Countries (great tread life, sloppy cornering). I'll know more after 10K miles, but with 2,500 miles on them so far - they are excellent!

Constant improvements in rubber chemistry and tire design are creating exciting new tires that offer greater mileage and improved performance in extreme weather conditions. Manufacturers now offer tires estimated to last up to 80,000 miles.
