Default 95’ alarm system

Does anyone own a 1995 Toyota 4Runner, drop-tailgate, 4WD?

I need to know how the alarm system works. I looked in the manual but it didn't say anything about the alarm system.

How do you turn it on in the first place?

Once I have it on, how does it get set off and can I use my keys to unlock and lock the doors instead of the button things?

I know where the switch is, but I can't seem to get it to come on. If there is a link to a site that may tell about it PLEASE put it on here. I took about an hour and a half surfing the web trying to find something about the alarm system but found nothing.

So if you have a 95' 4Runner, a similar one, or know something about the alarm systems any advice would be helpful. I just put a $600 sound system in it and want a little bit of safety. Thx,

I do not have a 95, but have you tried talking to a dealership? I used to work for a dealership, and we got lots of questions like this, and we would do our best to help. Just an idea.

Thx for the help but the dealer doesn't seem to know much about the alarm system, but for a good reason. I found online that Toyota didn't put factory alarm systems in 4Runners until 1996. It was installed by a used car dealer. I just wish someone on these forums had know a little bit of history about 4Runners so I wouldn't have had to spend 3 hours trying to find out what to do.
