Default what do i need



im a teenager who needs a truck</P>


been told by 3 sources to get a 4-runner</P>


2 decisions on 'em, first gen runner or a second gen runner</P>


needs to be able to get through sand, climb rocks, and go mudding with as few incedents of getting stuck</P>


need to be able to carry people around easily, and access my gear</P>


also need as good of gas mialige as possible. </P>


what should i get?</P>

generally speaking, the smaller the engine + manual tranny = better fuel mileage..but with a smaller engine, you sacrifice power without mods.

the first generation 4runner,(85-89) are the best for offroading , the 85 is a solid axle both from and back, witch makes it stronger then the rest but the ifs is just as good with a smoother ride on the highway, but it all comes down to personal preference. ive got both generations and me and my father inlaw both perfer the 85-89 models . </P>

Default what do i need

i happened to find a 2nd generation runner for $1650 that needs lifter work. is it worth it, or should i talk it down, or not even try with this one.

what do you mean it needs lifter noise? does it have an engine knock?
