Default 05 VSC TRAC and CEL

I have reviewed previous posts with my problem...CEL, VSC TRAC, VSC OFF and Slip indicator lights all on. Because a friend filled my tank, I'm hoping that tightening the cap will do the trick, and have done so. However, why does it take 7-10 days for the lights to go off? Also, I live in Denver and wonder...is it dangerous for me to be driving on snow while waiting to see if the lights go off? I do have an appointment at the dealer next week, and plan to leave it there while I'm in Arizona. Please advise and thank you!

It could just be a bad sensor. I don't think that mant 4Runners could be built witht he same problem if it was something big. They would have been recalled. I know how feel about it though. I'm driving my grandmothers Ford Ranger right now and the door ajar light stays on for a few miles, it gets annoying.

I'm so happy that I found this forum! After all the warning lights had been on for a week, I tightened the gas cap and they stayed on. But, then I disconnected the positive battery thing for 10 minutes. When I drove it the next day, all lights were off. Great peace of mind that all the functions are working as we're driving on snow/ice.
